Abstract
This collection contains studies, reports, plans, and correspondence pertaining to transportation in Cambridge. Most of the documents were created by City of Cambridge departments, such as the Cambridge Planning Board, and state departments. The documents cover locations such as the proposed Inner Belt and Expressway System; reports on the North Shore, Southwest, Lechmere Canal, East Cambridge, Parcel 1B, Harbor Crossing, Northwest, and the Alewife Corridor. A subsection pertains to the Cambridge Street Underpass.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains studies, reports, plans, and correspondence pertaining to transportation in Cambridge. Most of the documents were created by City of Cambridge departments, such as the Cambridge Planning Board, and state departments including the Boston Transportation Planning Review, the Joint Board for the Metropolitan Master Highway Plan, and the Massachusetts Highway Department. Many of the other creators were consulting firms and businesses while some items were submitted to both the Massachusetts and U.S. Departments of Public Works; Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation and Construction; the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA); the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and the Massachusetts Office of State Planning.
The documents cover locations such as the proposed Inner Belt and Expressway System; reports on the North Shore, Southwest, Lechmere Canal, East Cambridge, Parcel 1B, Harbor Crossing, Northwest, and the Alewife Corridor. Box 1 contains a section dedicated to the Cambridge Street Underpass.
